Slow properties window when designing in MS Access

Description

Often when you are busy designing  forms or reports in MS Access, the properties window makes design almost impossible.  It keeps updating itself.  This is a waste of time and terribly frustrating!

Solution

Right click the Access Shortcut/Application icon, then Right click MS Access again and choose properties. Under the compatibility tab, under settings, change the colour to 8-bit (256 colour)

Advantage when in this mode

You can design much quicker.

Downside when in this mode

Colours do not display too well, but you have everything available.

You cannot export an object while in this mode

You cannot use the link table manager while in this mode

You import objects while in this mode
